In this bittersweet drama we meet Paul Averoff, former marathon runner and Olympic gold medal winner. Now in his seventies, he and his wife move to a depressing retirement home that offers either a singing group or handicraft classes, so Paul dons his running shoes and begins jogging in the park. The other residents think he's crazy, especially after he announces that he is training for the Berlin Marathon, which he intends to win.
